Before you unfollow me, report me to the blog police, or think I've lost my mind, hear me out.
I certainly don't relish in your suffering. Whatever crucible you're in is serious. I won't detract from the pain you might feel because your marriage is falling apart, your kids hate you, you can't stand Mondays, or you're ready to file bankruptcy.
Your suffering matters. The heat of the furnace is hot.
But let me ask you, "what is your suffering teaching you? How is your suffering shaping you for a future you can't see or understand yet?"
Suffering shapes you. Suffering moves your purpose from success to significance.
Your furnace of suffering positions you to help other people.
God will use your misery for a ministry!
But, men, the choice is in your hands. Will you let your suffering destroy you? Or will you allow your present suffering to shape your destiny?
This is what I hope you choose.
Whatever you are currently going through is temporary. Please reach out if you need to talk to someone about your suffering. I listen well.
But I hope you will breathe in the midst of whatever is going on and prayerfully ask, "What does this mean? How can I navigate through my pain? And how can I use this to help another person?"
I'm cheering you on.
